Traveling begins...

Last time Keenan was stationed at a ship-I did lots of traveling with all the time I had without him around. I don't expect this time at this ship to be any different :) just a little bit more interesting now that Lincoln is in the mix.

On Wednesday, we will be leaving to go home to MN for 2 weeks. It will be the first time Lincoln and I are away from daddy. It should be interesting, but also good to see family.

When we get back, my parents and my nephew Brevin will be visiting for a week. Then 2 weeks after that Lincoln and I leave for our vacation to Hawaii!!! I don't know what the traveling plans are for christmas- but I'm sure there will be plenty of traveling involved.

Spring/Summer 2011 has tentative trips scheduled- San Diego for Lincoln's Bday, a cruise with some of my girlfriends from high school, a trip before keenans deployment, and possibly HI again next summer.

I just LOVE traveling, and hoping Lincoln does too. Otherwise, with Keenan and I as his parents, he better get used to it!! :)

6 months!

Hello!

Lincoln turned 6 months last thursday. I can't believe he is already 6 months old!!! At the same time, its hard to remember when he wasn't here...

He has been busy learning new things. He can sit up now and he can almost roll from his back to his tummy, he just gets stuck when it comes to getting over that whole arm thing...He LOVES to sleep on his side now. He just rolls there on his own when he is going to sleep. He also has been babbling ALOT. He makes "ooo" and "pah" sounds. He has almost started doing a motor boat sound with his lips and just thinks its hilarious when we do it back at him. He has also started solid foods-he has had rice cereal, bananas, applesauce, pears, peaches and avocados. Tonight, I think we will try sweet potatoes. It's fun to watch him try new tastes! :)

On the downside (for him), getting bigger means he has started teething. Poor guy! he has had 2 rough days and will scream in pain sometimes. Have any of you mommies tried teething tablets? They were suggested to me by another mom and I think I am going to give them a try. I guess they basically numb their gums so they don't have so much pain, and its also all natural.

We have been very busy exploring our new area. We took a day trip this weekend to see Mt. Rainer, which was pretty cool to see. We have also gone to Tacoma a few times and have enjoyed seeing new places and things.

I have decided not to go back to work just yet. I thought it would be best for me to stay home with Linc a little longer, especially with nursing. Also, with being a hairstylist, I will have to work Saturdays, and right now when Keenan's ship is here and he is home on the weekends, weekends are our only chance to do things together, so I have decided to wait until at least Keenan's ship is out of the yards and back out to sea.

Keenan was assigned a duty section now (bummer!) so he will have to stay overnight on the ship every 4 days. Otherwise work has been going well for him, and he is usually home by 4pm or so. He has mostly been studying to pass various tests he needs to become qualified on the ship and also to be assigned a division to be in charge of.

LOTS OF CHANGES

Hello all- I know its been way way WAY to long. Our life has just been crazy these past few months. Lincoln is now just about 6 months old and growing like a weed. When I look at him now I can't believe how little he was when he was born. He can grab toys now and sit up on his own almost perfectly.

We have had major changes in our lives. We moved (again!) all the way back across the country to Port Orchard, Washington, since Keenan recieved orders to the Stennis, an aircraft carrier. We are still getting settled in our new home. Its a great house, lots of space (more then we need) and is close to our great friends Corey and Amber's new house that is still being built. We arrived here about a month ago. There are days when I wish we would have gone back to San Diego though!

Lincoln has been adjusting well. He started waking up again at night for the first few weeks we were here, but has gotten better over the past few nights so hopefully that continues.

Keenan has been pretty busy with work, but hasn't officially started his "job" yet.

As for me, I actually have been offered a job at a salon here, when my license is switched over. I am deciding whether it is the right time for me to go back to work, or if I should stay home with Lincoln a little longer. Also the whole trying to find daycare thing is very scary, not sure if I'm ready to deal with that whole situation yet.

This past weekend we took a day trip through the MWR to Mt. St. Helens. It was very cool! I wish I could have seen it before it blew, but it was still so cool to see. Pics will be posted soon.

I will try to blog more often! My goal is one post a week!

Lincoln is 5 weeks old!

Hello all-

It's been a while! A newborn keeps me very busy! Lincoln is doing great. He is getting bigger every day and now weighs about 7 and a half pounds! He seems to get that people sleep at night the past few nights so I hope that continues. He is still waking up to eat about every 3 hours, can't wait till he sleeps through the night!

Last weekend, Keenan's parents visited and Keenan had a 4 day weekend so we took Lincoln on his first trip to Ft. Myers, FL to see the Twins play. He enjoyed the game (i.e. slept through it). He also met TC! He did great in the car, again only waking up about every 3 hours to eat, but otherwise was content with being in the car.

We still have more visitors to look forward to! My sister is coming on Monday for a few days and my mom is coming later in the week to help out when Keenan is on his overnight shift again for a week. Hopefully, Lincoln and I can get out of the house to enjoy the beautiful weather we've been having here when the visitors come! Well I gotta go..a little boy is crying my name ;) I will try to post pics soon from vacation-otherwise click the link down a few posts to see updated pictures of Lincoln in the album on snapfish!

How adorable is that? I know you are all frantically awaiting pictures so I thought this would hold you over for a minute or two. Lincoln was born at 9:02am on February 12th, 2010. He weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces. He was 18 inches long and has a beautiful head of black hair. Mama, Daddy and baby are all doing great. We're hopefully going home tonight. Lincoln can't wait to meet each and every one of you!

Baby says "just kidding!"

So, yesterday I woke up with lots of contractions and called the doctor. They had me come in to the clinic and then sent me to the hospital because they thought I was in labor. After being hooked up to monitors for a while, they weren't sure what to do with me! They couldn't decide if I was in labor or not. The contractions were pretty regular, but nothing was changing since I was checked out at the clinic. Then, they gave me some medicine to help me sleep, which would also help stop the contractions if it was "false labor," but wouldn't stop them if it was true labor. Well, when I woke up I was still having contractions, but they had slowed way down, so we decided to go home.

The doctor was like really sure I would be back in a few hours to have the baby since she decided she thought I was in early labor, but here I am, still at home, and still having some contractions, but nothing like yesterday. The doctor and nurse both think the baby will be born in the next week or so, I guess we will see! I'll post pics of our impromptu hospital visit, and of our nursery soon! Keep praying for us as our little guy makes his decision about being born!

33 weeks!

Yesterday we had a checkup at the doctor. Everything is looking great! My midwife said baby is head down, and she thought he was about 5 lbs. already! She said "he definitely has some meat on his bones!" Knowing that he is already weighing 5 lbs makes me a little scared! But, at least we know he's a healthy boy!

My mom requested that I post a new pic of myself, so here is one from last week:

Me @ 32 weeks.

We also finished setting up our nursery, for the most part. I will post pics of it soon. We are pretty much ready for baby! Can't wait to meet him! Only 6 weeks away!

A few pictures from Christmas.

The Lueck family at Christmas. Next year there will be a new member!

I got together with my high school friends at Christmas time. It was really fun!!

Keenan bringing in our Christmas tree in SC. It was about 10 ft tall!
Our biggest tree ever! I loved it!

Our Christmas tree all decorated and lit up. Beautiful! I was sad to take it down.

Happy New Year!

Hi! Hope you are all having a happy and wonderful 2010! It's finally the year when baby will be born! Yeah!

Keenan was actually able to come home for Christmas, so we got to spend our holidays with friends and family. It was very nice, but very cold up there in MN!! I was pretty much frozen for 2 weeks!

My belly just keeps getting bigger and I am getting more uncomfortable. It is no longer comfortable to sit in chairs, I feel the best laying on my side or standing. But, only 8 weeks to go!! I think I can make it! Also, I now have to go to the doctor every 2 weeks, starting tomorrow. While I was home, I was blessed to have 2 showers thrown for me, one in MN by my sister and sister-in-law, and one in Madison, WI by my dear friend Claire. Both were a lot of fun and I got some great gifts! :) Now I just need to get going on setting up the nursery, which isn't set up at all. The crib is still in the box! I also need to get going and take my childbirth classes-I need to find out what I am getting myself into. :)

I will post pics soon from my time at home. I hope you all have a blessed new year! I know we will!
